MARILYN SAPP

Marilyn Marlene Sapp, 84, peacefully went to be with our Lord in Heaven on August 9, 2023. She is now reunited with family that has passed before her, and even though we mourn about our loss, we know that we will see her again.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney “Rocky” and Audrey Brown Blankenship, as well as numerous aunts and uncles. She was also preceded in death by an infant brother and sister, as well as sisters, Audrey Louise and husband, James “Jump” Pickett, and Linda Dell Lowery; brothers, Samuel and wife, Jean Laborde, and Jack Laborde; husband, Russell “Rusty” Sapp; and ex-husband, and close friend John F. Orsak.

She is survived by brother, Sidney Landis Blankenship; sister, Lana and husband, John Hoesing; brother-in-law, Leroy Lowery; and sister-in-law, Barbara Laborde. Her marriage to John F. Orsak produced three children which she is survived by, they are John Henry and wife, Beverly Orsak, Kenneth and wife, Pat Orsak, and daughter, Audrey Orsak; grandchildren, Melinda “Mindy” and husband, Josh Fuller, Jessica and husband Todd Butkey, Kami Orsak Green, Michael and wife, Gabriela Orsak, Matthew and wife, Heather Orsak, Shelby and husband, Jake Massey; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Marilyn was a homemaker and hairdresser, but most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be dearly missed.

Officiating her services is her niece, Debra Campbell. The pallbearers will be grandsons Michael and Matthew Orsak, granddaughter’s husband, Jake Massey, niece’s husband, Don Campbell, nephew John Wayne Pickett, and good friend, Tim Payne.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Hurley Funeral Home with burial in Pleasanton Cemetery.
